The stories, history and people of Pen Llŷn are among the things that make the place completely special. Every village, beach, hill, chapel, path and road has unique and interesting stories or memories. But as time goes by and these stories and memories can be forgotten.
The 'I Gwydro' project wants to hear and record as many of these stories and memories as possible. We want to focus on three areas – Llanbedrog, Rhiw and Porthdinllaen – organizing walking tours led by historians, writers and people who live in the communities. We would like your help to do this. Whether you've lived locally all your life, moved recently, young or old, we'd like you to share your experiences, stories and memories about these places and say what makes them special to you. If you would like to learn more about these areas this would be a great opportunity, and anyone is welcome to join, whether to share stories or listen to others.
The walks/talks will be led by Iwan Hughes in Llanbedrog, Meinir Pierce Jones in Porthdinllaen and Emlyn Jones in Rhiw. Story sharing sessions will follow, enabling people who cannot join the walks to share their memories and experiences and listen to others too.
